About Nyingma Centers Nyingma Centers was founded in 1976 by Head Lama Tarthang Tulku following the creation of several other non-profit organizations under the umbrella of the Tibetan Nyingma Meditation Centers (TNMC). The TNMC mission is twofold; to preserve Tibetan Buddhist culture in Asia and to transmit the teachings of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition to the West. Nyingma Centers is the coordinating body that balances the interests of the growing number of organizations within the TNMC mandala. This coordinating role ensures that the integrity of the twofold mission remains intact in all the activities, programs, and projects facilitated by each of the centers in the mandala, both domestic and international.
About the Resident Volunteer Program In 2005, Nyingma Centers became responsible for the coordination and recruitment of volunteers which had previously been managed by individual organizations in the mandala for over 30 years. This relatively new role gives centralized support to the array of existing and future projects needing volunteers. Today, it continues to oversee and develop the volunteer program, reaffirming the TNMC mission by inviting individuals To find out more about the TMNC mandala
