Ratna Ling is home to three volunteer work projects. Please read through the web site of each project so you are familiar with the goals, missions and work of the organization.
1. Tibetan Book Project Help with the production of Tibetan Buddhist texts which are given for free to Tibetans in Asia every year. No experience is required. although background in warehousing, operating machinery and/or electronics are appreciated. See this gallery for pictures of working in the bindery.
2. Ratna Ling Retreat Center Lead Cook and Assistant cook for our vegetarian kitchen. Preparation of healthy meals for our paying retreat guests and the volunteer staff.
Maintenance for general upkeep of buildings, facilities and grounds. Must have previous experience.
Groundskeeper for maintaining landscaping and irrigation, plus county mandated vegetation management.
Housekeeper for guest accommodations and main lodge, including laundry.
Maintenance, Grounds keeping and Housekeeping are overlapping positions that can be combined between two people.
3. Dharma Publishing See http://www.dharmapublishing.com/
The initial commitment is six months to one year, includes a six week trial period. We prefer a one year commitment. For those who find our community and lifestyle a good fit, longer term positions beyond one year are possible. The minimum age is 23 years old.
